West End Flea Market

St Paul's Church, Covent Garden 2019-2023

In 2019, Robert co-produced the inaugural West End Flea Market alongside Alex Turner, raising over £26,000 for the theatrical charity Acting for Others. In 2022, Robert was selected to shadow at the Broadway Flea Market in New York, gaining valuable insights to enhance the UK event. That same year, the West End Flea Market raised £45,000, followed by an impressive £70,000 in 2023.

Robert developed and presented a five-year strategic growth plan to Acting for Others, outlining how to expand the event annually and increase fundraising revenue. In recognition of his dedication and impact, Robert was honoured with the Special Recognition Award at the 2023 Golden Bucket Awards, presented by Tom Read Wilson.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS…

West End shows set up a variety of uniquely designed stalls offering theatrical memorabilia, signed posters, bric-a-brac and special items for theatre fans!

Most West End shows take stalls at the event, including Back to The Future, Cabaret, Clueless, Hadestown, Hamilton, Les Misérables, Mamma Mia!, Mean Girls, Moulin Rouge!, Operation Mincemeat, The Phantom of the Opera, SIX The Musical, Stiletto, The Book of Mormon, The Devil Wears Prada, The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical, The Mousetrap, The Play That Goes Wrong, Tina – The Tina Turner Musical and Titanique.

The shows hosting a stall will compete to win in a brand new theatrical challenge, with past judges including Christopher Biggins, Wayne Sleep, Celia Imrie, Golda Rosheuvel, Michael Ball, Janie Dee and Dame Arlene Philips. The public are invited to come and cheer on their favourite show and the winner is announced at the event. In addition, there are signings, a theatrical tombola, auctions and all sorts of exciting theatrical memorabilia up for grabs as well as the chance to meet stars from hit shows!

Acting for Others provides financial and emotional support to all theatre workers in times of need through the 14 member charities.
